Karate Kid: Legends – 2025 | Trailer Released

New ‘Karate Kid: Legends’ Trailer Released

The trailer for “Karate Kid: Legends” offers a glimpse into the journey of a young boy training for a martial arts tournament under the guidance of characters played by Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio.

The storyline follows Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Mr. Han (Jackie Chan) — both iconic figures from previous Karate Kid films — as they pass on their martial arts legacy to a student named Li Feng (played by Ben Wang).

The trailer opens with Mr. Han, an experienced martial arts master, training his students in Beijing, China. Among them, Li Feng emerges as a promising talent. However, an unexpected twist forces the boy to relocate to New York, USA, with his mother. Struggling to adapt and make new friends, Li Feng tries to leave his past behind. One day, he decides to enter a martial arts tournament to support a new friend. Mr. Han then seeks out his old friend Daniel — a karate master — to help guide Li Feng in New York.

Directed by Jonathan Entwistle, known for the series I’m Not Okay with This (2020), the film’s script is penned by Rob Lieber, the screenwriter of Peter Rabbit (2018). Alongside the main trio, the film features Joshua Jackson, Sadie Stanley, and Ming-Na Wen.

The Karate Kid franchise began in 1984, starring Ralph Macchio as the 15-year-old Daniel LaRusso. The original story followed Daniel as he faced bullying, eventually finding mentorship in Mr. Miyagi (Pat Morita), who taught him karate. Macchio reprised his role in The Karate Kid Part II (1986) and Part III (1989). In 2010, Jackie Chan starred in a reboot directed by Harald Zwart. According to Variety, the Karate Kid franchise has grossed over $618 million globally, leading to the creation of the successful Cobra Kai series in 2018, which earned nine Emmy nominations.
